Confirmation 2011-12
High School Confirmation for Grades 9-12 and college students up to 21 years old. Level 1 and Level 2 are held on alternating Sunday evenings from 2:45 – 6:15 PM  (This includes attendance at the 5pm mass). All workshops meet in Hegarty Hall.

Who Should Register?
Candidates who were either in Confirmation Level  I of our program last year, and therefore are ready to start Confirmation Level II; or if you are of the age, at least beginning High School, when you can decide if you would like to begin the Confirmation program at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Parish.

The Confirmation program is a two-year program which helps to prepare you to receive the sacrament of Confirmation.

Sacraments are not received at school; you receive your sacraments through a church. So even if you attend a Catholic high school, you still participate in preparing for Confirmation through a parish, whether that be St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Parish or another church.

What it Means to Participate
Receiving the sacrament of Confirmation does not mean you have “graduated from Faith Formation”, or that you have learned all there is to know about what it means to be a Catholic. What it does mean is that you are ready to be initiated into the Catholic Church as a young adult; that you want to continue along the faith journey that your parents started you on, when they had you baptized many years ago.

Once You Decide
If you decide you want to begin the Confirmation program, or that you want to continue it, please fill out the 2011-12 registration form, 2013 Confirmation Sponsor Packet, 2011-12 Confirmation 1 Requirements Parish Form along with at least a $50 deposit and bring it to the Religious Education office during regular office hours by of Tuesday, September 6, 2011. Perhaps you will decide that you’re not ready at this time; or that your schedule is too busy right now to commit to the Confirmation program; or that you would prefer to participate in a program at a different parish. That is your decision to make.
